Joe Biden is elected president of the United States.

Biden (D), with 81.2 million popular votes and 306 electoral votes, defeats incumbent Donald Trump (R), with 74.2 million popular votes and 232 electoral votes. Results are delayed due to the many mail-in ballots due to the coronavirus pandemic, and Trump subsequently refuses to accept the results. In Boston, Biden receives 242,717 votes (82.2%) to Trump’s 45,425 (15.4%). Turnout is 295,297, or 68.4% of registered voters.
